Robert J. Cummings, Jr. started his court reporting career in 1974 in the Family Court of Rockland County. In 1976 he was appointed to the Supreme Court of the State of New York, starting his assignment in Dutchess County.
Shortly thereafter, by 1977, Robert was assigned to the Orange County Supreme Court for the next 34 short years.
In that time, Robert has reported on many high profile cases, including medical malpractice cases, murder cases, and the famed Rockland County Brinks trial.
Robert has also reported speeches at Lincoln Center, New York City, for the former Chief Justice of the United States, Warren Burger, and the United States Attorney General Griffin Bell.
